TLP launches new KidsCast children’s app

Range of classic and new material, plus special toy review series included on new app.

Those Licensing People (TLP) has launched its new children’s app – KidsCast.

The app includes a range of classic material (such as Sooty, Rainbow and Wind in the Willows), new series (including Om Nom Stories) and a toy review series called Toy Time Show.

A range of fun and educational games are also available on the app. Content will be further boosted later this month with the arrival of the Imaginatorium, where children will be able to enjoy the app’s digital magazine – Imagine – a story section (Imaginastory) and a reading section (Imaginabooks).

Russell Dever, the creator of KidsCast, commented: “It’s been 14 months from conception to launch of the app. Though the app is still in its infancy, we have managed to pack it full of some wonderful features with even more coming to the application in 2017.

“We realised there was a huge gap in the market for an application that could work across all devices, but still capture everything that children enjoy and one that they can grow and learn with, in a safe environment. The challenge was creating a world that would appeal to an age range of 4-12 years.

“So, we just asked ourselves, what do all children love… the answer, the magical and fantastical. We have built the application so that it can be developed as technology evolves, reflecting the content we provide.”

The application is set in the world of the KidsCast Kingdom where children can navigate the Magical Forest, Funfair, KidsCast Castle, KidsCast Cove and The Space between worlds.

Each section is dedicated to a different feature including shows, games, educational content and a digital magazine within the app on launch. The app also has the capability to cast the shows directly to TV or cast ready devices.

The platform is available in the UK and is moving into other territories later this year, with a multi-language version in the works.
