DisneyLife launches in the UK

Family-focused subscription streaming service arrives in UK first, ahead of a global roll out.

Disney’s new subscription streaming service – DisneyLife – has officially launched in the UK.

The service – which has arrived just days after YouTube’s dedicated kids app – is £9.99 per month and includes a host of Disney content.

This ranges from classics such as Bambi and The Jungle Book, through to Pixar’s Toy Story franchise and more modern films like the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

On top of this, there are over 5,000 music tracks from brands including High School Musical and Frozen, plus books based on the likes of Cars and Winnie the Pooh. There are also more than 2,000 episodes from TV box sets.

Further content is also set to be added, with Frozen – for example – joining in spring 2016.

Users can stream or temporarily download content and up to six family members can create their own profiles using character icons.

“Disney means something different to every parent and child, and now with DisneyLife we are handing over the keys to them to explore the ever-expanding digital world of Disney – wherever they are and whenever they want,” said Paul Brown, general manager of DisneyLife UK.
