Some 320 industry execs help raise over £10,000 at biggest Treasure Hunt yet.

Last night’s Summer Pub Treasure Hunt in aid of The Light Fund has been hailed as the best yet – with 320 execs helping to raise in excess of £10,000 for the industry charity.

This year’s event boasted a new location – with the hunt starting and finishing at Thai Silk in Southwark, SE1.

The winner was the Chocolate Teapots team – which was captained by Octane 5’s Denise Penn and included execs from Bee Licensing, Total Licensing, West Ham, Octane 5 and Licensing Link.

As well as the tankard and a bundle of goodies, lucky girl Denise also won a special ‘Captain’s Prize’ – dinner with Cartoon Network’s Graham Saltmarsh at Quo Vadis in London’s Soho.

Meanwhile, down the bottom of the table, the team from Roy Lowe & Sons – Sex, Drugs and Sausage Rolls – took home the wooden spoon for coming in last place.

The team from DHX Media also walked away with a prize for supplying the best joke – What’s brown and sticky? A stick (obviously). We think in this case it was so bad it was good.

The event was once again sponsored by Brand Licensing Europe (which also generously provided the welcome drinks), with the maps supplied by A-Z and Rocket Licensing.

Other sponsors included Rainbow Productions, Start Licensing, Sambro and Max Publishing.

The evening was put together and hosted by Ashley Holman from Nickelodeon and Hannah Mungo from NBC Universal.

Ashley told The Source: “It was great to see so much of the licensing industry turn out to support last night’s event, and with an all new location and venue, this year’s event was the best yet.

“Special thanks also go to our sponsors. The Light Fund has enjoyed a great year of support so far and we can’t thank the industry enough for its continued enthusiasm and backing.”
