Kazachok broadens focus for 2019

Paris-based show set to welcome more exhibitors and visitors when it opens next week.

Kazachok Licensing Forum is looking to continue its expansion when it opens its doors next week (April 3-4).

The show first took place in 2004 with nine exhibitors, and in 2018, it marked its 15th anniversary with 65 exhibitors and 1,500 visitors.

Kazachok’s director, Nathalie Chouraqui, explains that 2019 will see further growth for the show.

“Kazachok wants to broaden its array of exhibitors to include innovating, emerging or legacy brands,” she said. “In this new version of the KLF we’ll be promoting a Brands Pavilion, a Gaming Corner and a Heritage Brands Corner. Our goal is to introduce brands with ‘strong licensing potential’ to chosen and relevant manufacturers that can eventually provide growth engines and create value, notwithstanding respecting the values and DNA of the brands.

“We are also focusing on attracting large-scale distributors, and particularly chain stores that cater to young people, as well as adults in the area of personal apparel and home equipment.”

Nathalie concluded: “While brands, licensees and retail are facing numerous challenges, Kazachok firmly believes that licensing still has a rosy future. Licensing needs to be re-enchanted by a real diversification strategy, by providing real meaning and meeting consumer expectations. That’s why the 2019 KLF is repositioning to follow all those transformations.”
