Judging for the Product categories took place at the Business Design Centre on July 9.
Well over 100 retail buyers made their way to the Business Design Centre in London’s Islington yesterday (July 9) for the judging of the Product categories in this year’s Licensing Awards.
Over 5,000 products were on display at the North London venue.
Every major retailer was represented, with buyers from a variety of categories attending to cast their votes.
These included Asda, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, FatFace, Geek is Chic, Groupon, House of Cards, John Lewis, M&Co, Marks & Spencer, Mothercare, Paultons Park, Sainsbury’s, Specsavers, Stanfords, Tesco, Toymaster, The Entertainer, Character.com, Aura Lingerie-Beija, Blue Inc., Butlins, Amazon, Ann Summers, Forbidden Planet, Primark, TruffleShuffle, TJ Morris, Hamleys, Moonpig, Matalan, Debenhams and Geek Universe.
In addition, this was further bolstered by a large number of delegates from the Brand Licensing Europe Retail Mentoring Programme, giving them an opportunity to view products in their own categories and beyond.
“I’m always blown away by how many entries the Licensing Awards attract each year; all fantastic quality and a masterclass in creativity,” said Anna Knight, brand director for BLE. “The judging day is so packed with product it’s like a department store pre-Christmas. A big thank you, again, to Ian and Jakki for inviting retailers from our Retail Mentoring Programme to take part – they loved it.”
Pippa Woods, brand licensing manager at Tesco, commented: “The day has been really good; the product is great. It is a real move on from last year.”
