Danilo kicks off 40th anniversary celebrations

Special logo focuses on licensee’s roots as well as its future, says md Daniel Prince.

Popular greeting cards and calendar licensee Danilo is marking 40 years in business this year, with celebrations to mark the milestone already underway.

Danilo has unveiled a special 40th birthday logo, with Elvis Presley – the company’s very first licence – taking a starring role.

Back in 1978 Laurence Prince, founder (and continuing chairman) of the company travelled to LA and as agreed, turned up at Colonel Parker’s office with a suitcase full of hard cash to seal the deal, securing what was its first of many official Elvis calendars that was to form the bedrock of the business.

As Daniel Prince, md of Danilo, explained: “The logo, which will form part of the celebrations, focuses on Danilo’s roots as well as our future.”

Laurence continued: “It seemed obvious to me that the logo needed to have a link to where the Danilo story began.

“Fortunately, our relationship with the Elvis Presley Enterprises is still as strong today as when I  first met the Colonel 40 years ago, so they happily approved the use of Elvis’s silhouette within our 40th anniversary logo.”
