Studiocanal teams with Hourglass Escapes for new immersive experience.
The first officially licensed Evil Dead 2 escape room is set to open in Seattle in the summer.
Hourglass Escapes has teamed with Studiocanal for Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn, which is based on Sam Raimi’s classic horror comedy.
Opening in July, players will get the chance to enter the familiar cabin in the woods and have until dawn (or 60 minutes, whichever comes first) to find the Kandarian dagger and destroy the book of the dead before their souls are swallowed.
Fans of the classic film can expect deadites, chainsaws, a very strange deer head, a chained up cellar door and plenty of ‘horrifying’ surprises, including a cameo by Twin Peaks actress, Andrea Hays.
“Every part of the design phase we stop and ask if this fits into the Evil Dead 2 universe,” said Seth Wolfson, creative director at Hourglass Escapes. “We want this to be a great Evil Dead 2 experience and a well-respected escape room on its own merit.”
