Prove Anything’s competition at Brand Licensing Europe earns a rockin’ good prize for Chelsea.
Being a right poser has paid off for Chelsea Rogers as she’s picked up a fabulous Fender electric guitar signed by The Clash bassist Paul Simonon thanks to a competition at last month’s Brand Licensing Europe.
Run by exhibitor Prove Anything, visitors, exhibitors and even the show’s cast of characters were challenged to pose with the guitar in front of a giant image of the iconic punk group’s London Calling album, where Paul is pictured smashing his instrument on stage.
Prove Anything co-founder Charlie Cox and the team then sifted through all 50 entries to decide which “pose we think is the most rocking”, and decided Pokémon licensing administrator Chelsea had nailed it, announcing her as the winner on Friday, 7 October.
“We had an amazing show and gained loads of great connections and opportunities,” Charlie said, explaining that the company is the open protocol for proof and authenticity, connecting people and brands through the products they own using Web3 technologies as its toolset creates proof, certification and provenance all with consumer privacy, security and data ownership at its core.
Charlie explained the Fender is part of the Giving Back collection of signed memorabilia by living members of The Clash, and “all entries to the competition have been added as NFTs to the Certificate Of Authenticity issued by Prove Anything, as part of the guitar’s provenance story”.
A non-fungible token is a unique digital identifier that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided, that is recorded in a blockchain, and that is used to certify authenticity and ownership – all competition entries can be seen here.
“We had an amazing week at BLE at ExCeL alongside our ecommerce partner Alvio,” Charlie added. “It was our first trade show and it was really exciting to meet some big brands. We got loads of fantastic feedback about the platform, as well a greater understanding of the needs and some of the problems these vendors and their licensees face.
“Many great connections were made and we will be announcing some of the partnerships formed from the show in the coming weeks and months.”
