Paw Patrol key driver for Spin Master in 2015

Preschool brand helps toy company to strong revenue and profit growth for year.

Toy company Spin Master saw its gross product sales in the preschool and girls segment more than double in 2015, mainly thanks to the enormous success of its Paw Patrol line.

Spin Master reported revenue of $879.4 million for the year ending December 31, 2015 (2014: $715.7 million).

This growth was driven by a strong contribution from Paw Patrol, as well as the company’s Star Wars licensed products.

Gross product sales increases were reported in the US (up 12.1%), Europe (up 35.8%) and the Rest of World (up 21.3%).

Including other revenue (which mainly reflects merchandising royalty and TV distribution income from products based on Spin Master IP and marketed by third parties), the company’s total sales in 2015 were just over $1.0 billion.

Looking ahead to 2016, and co-ceo Ronnen Harary said that Spin Master will continue to drive Paw Patrol globally.

It is also due to launch toy lines for The Secret Life of Pets, Angry Birds and Powerpuff Girls. Launches under its Air Hogs brand will include new Star Wars products, plus the Starship Enterprise for the Star Trek 50th anniversary movie and the Batmobile from Batman v Superman.
