Licensees show support for JCB Mud Run

Teams from Golden Bear and Fashion UK take part in annual fundraising event.

This year’s JCB Mud Run raised over £55,000 for the NSPCC, with a number of licensees taking on the challenge.

The event, now in its fifth year, was held on June 18 at JCB headquarters in Staffordshire and sees teams conquer over 30 obstacles across five miles of muddy terrain.

With woods, rivers, lakes, peat, grass and mud, the obstacles vary in challenge but include real JCB machines, a 100ft underground tunnel, climbing walls, monkey bars and the ‘bog of doom’.

A number of JCB licensees fielded teams, including Golden Bear, Fashion UK, Kidsaw, B&Q, Great Star, VPS Group and Harris Brushes.

Over in the US, Mudfest took place on the same day in Savannah, Georgia, raising over $100,000 for charity.

“The Mud Run is a great way of building on our brand values, raising money for amazing causes and bringing the JCB community together through runners, spectators and licensees,” said Sam Johnson of JCB.

“It is such a brilliant day out for the whole family and we love the fact we can throw open our doors to the public, have huge amounts of fun and yet raise so much money for children.”
