Retailers launch promotions with TV and newspaper ads ahead of arrival of third movie.
Aldi and Lidl are both throwing their weight behind the Despicable Me franchise, ahead of the arrival of the eagerly awaited third movie later this week.
Aldi has been promoting its Despicable Me and Minions ‘Specialbuys’ with a series of newspapers ads – including in The Metro, with the tagline ‘a world of fun for your little minions’ – with product available in-store and online from June 25. The collection sits under the ‘movie favourites’ umbrella.
Products include a dome character tent (pictured), character folding chair, slippers, pyjamas and soft toys. These are joined by outdoor toy lines, plus backpacks, books, card games, headphones, drinkware, sunglasses, t-shirts, trekking sandals and trainers.
Meanwhile, Lidl has been using TV ad spots to promote its offering – which also went into stores and online from June 25.
Lines include Minions shortie pyjamas, leggings, shorts, towel poncho, wall/window stickers, t-shirts, 4-in-1/3D puzzles and a duvet set (pictured).
