Acquisition gives Fanatics more significant presence in non-apparel merchandise categories.
Fanatics has further strengthened its position in the licensed sports apparel sector, acquiring hard goods specialist, WinCraft.
The acquisition of the Minnesota-based company – which was founded by Dick Pope in 1961 – will mean that Fanatics will have a more significant presence with non-apparel related merchandise.
WinCraft specialises in home, office and automotive sports-themed merchandise including clocks and banners.
Fanatics is now in the process of gathering consenting rights from WinCraft’s 700+ colleges and professional league licensing deals, reported CNBC, which includes all championship events and an agreement with the Olympics.
The acquisition of WinCraft follows September’s purchase of lead collegiate sports headwear company, Top of the World.
“The combined manufacturing capabilities of TOW and WinCraft working together with Fanatics’ bricks-and-mortar retail partners provides a tremendous opportunity to grow the licensed retail space by providing consumers a one-stop-shop for apparel and non-apparel items both online and offline,” a company spokesman told CNBC in an email.
