Momot on the look out for UK distribution

Paper craft brand has already secured deals with Nickelodeon and Universal properties.

Korean paper craft brand Momot is looking to make an impact in the UK licensing business, and has been welcomed with a strong reaction at Brand Licensing Europe this week.

New agency UU Licensing Worldwide – which specialises in family entertainment and sports – recently acquired the global rights for Momot and is already making an impact in the UK.

It has EMEA rights for several Nickelodeon brands, including SpongeBob Squarepants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and has also secured a two-year deal for the Minions franchise with Universal (including the Despicable Me movies).

Further signings are also due to be announced shortly.

There are two sizes of characters in the range – 13cm and 30cm, which will retail for £1.99 and £4.99 respectively.

Chris Taylor, founder and ceo of UULW, told The Source: “We have had a phenomenal reaction at BLE this week. It’s been a great response and there is massive interest in Momot. We wanted to offer something different and we did exactly what we set out to do.

“Our aim now is to build a distribution channel before then looking at further licences and Momots.”

The company is also working with Panini as its promotional partner, while popular industry exec Pat Reading is on board as licensing director.

UULW also supports three children’s charities through Work for Good, making a contribution from each Momot sold.
