Pippa Smith and Paul O’Mara highlight what’s performing well in the run up to Christmas.
Trolls, My Little Pony and the trend for licensed baby ranges are among the highlights for key buyers from Marks & Spencer this Christmas.
Pippa Smith, licensing manager and Paul O’Mara, head of design for childrenswear – pictured with Suzy Sissons, multi product designer (second left) and Rebecca Garner, assistant designer for boyswear (far right) – were among the judges of the product categories at this year’s Licensing Awards.
We asked them what was performing well currently and which properties they had their eyes on for the festive period.
Pippa Smith, licensing manager, and Paul O’Mara, head of design for childrenswear, M&S:
“We predict big things for Trolls, with My Little Pony gaining traction.
“The nostalgic wave continues, evidenced by Care Bears, while the expansion of licensing into the baby sector with brands such as Thomas, Dear Zoo, Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh is likely to continue.”
