Executives from Hasbro, Jazwares and Mattel will kick off LIMA’s Licensing University at Licensing Expo. The keynote session will take place on Tuesday June 21 and will be entitled Toys to Content: Where do we go from here? Simon Waters, gm and svp entertainment and consumer products at Hasbro; Laura Zebersky, chief commercial officer at Jazwares; and Susie Lecker, chief brands officer, Toy Box division at Mattel will all take part, with the discussion being moderated by LIMA svp Marty Brochstein.

DHX Media has teamed with Iconix Brand Group to co-develop and produce a new animated series based on Strawberry Shortcake. In addition to this, DHX has also become the exclusive global distributor for the Strawberry Shortcake back catalogue.

Underground Toys is launching a range of Yo-Kai Watch products in the UK. Lines will include drinkware, talking pens, throws and storage containers, and will be available from autumn/winter 2016.

SmileyWorld has opened a new pop-up store in one of Asia’s most prestigious shopping malls, Galeries Lafayette Beijing. The display features a range of products including bags, cushions, hats, keyring, mugs and plush. It is also showcasing Liberation’s new eyewear and accessories capsule collection for the first time.

Amscan International has added to its licensed line-up, with a new range of party accessories and balloons for Finding Dory available throughout Europe.

FremantleMedia Kids & Family and CBBC have confirmed that Danger Mouse will return for a second series. The show is part of FMK’s five-year co-production partnership with BBC Children’s and has now been sold into over 100 territories.

Autumn Fair is building on its partnership with trade associations The British Independent Retailers Association and BHETA ahead of the 2016 exhibition. The new initiative will involve the creation of a dedicated area for BIRA and BHETA members. BIRA will also host a new feature area in Contemporary Gifts & Home.

Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing has acquired the rights to publish both classic Miffy and Miffy TV tie-in titles, brand owner Mercis has confirmed. The TV lines will launch in spring 2017 and will feature the HD CGI artwork. The classic Miffy titles will include 2D art and stories, meanwhile. Titles will cover hardcover and paperback storybooks, beginning readers, novelty books, chapter books, board books and ebooks.

Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have partnered on the first Teen Titans Go mobile game. The app – called Teeny Titans – will be available from the summer and features original voice performances from the cast, as well as starring George Takei, voicing a new character specifically created for the app.

The Frida Kahlo Corporation has appointed One Entertainment as its licensing agent in the US, Mexico and Canada. The company is initially eyeing up categories including apparel, stationery and gifts among others, with the first products likely to launch in spring 2017.

Staying with One Entertainment, the company has also signed up to represent IFLScience in the US.

Nitro Circus has revealed its new online store, with the initial product roll out including ’47 headwear and new apparel not available at shows or in stores. The shop is a joint venture between Nitro Circus and Velocity Brand Management.
