Discovery Consumer Products is teaming up with Uniqlo for a new t-shirt collection which aims to embody the brand’s ‘spirit of curiosity’. The move marks the first ever global partnership between the two brands. Launching this month, the range will be supported with a worldwide digital marketing campaign, in-store promotion and cross promotion between the two brands. The unisex fashion forward line will feature the likes of animals, space and dinosaurs.

eOne has outlined plans to strengthen its operations in Latin America with a new appointment to manage its property portfolio, including Peppa Pig, PJ Masks and Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom. Bruna Sawada joins the company in the newly created role of regional territory manager for Brazil – she will report directly to London-based Murilo Hinojosa, who leads CP for the entire Lat-Am region. Ami Dieckman, head of global licensing at eOne, commented: “Brazil is a strategic focus for growth across all our properties and a newly shaped and strengthened team under Murilo’s vision, will be key to unlocking the commercial potential of our brands in this territory.”

Orchard Books – part of Hachette Children’s Group – has signed a new publishing deal for additional formats with The Pokémon Company. The extended deal follows on from the success the company enjoyed with its first titles in November 2016. The new deal covers multiple formats including a wider range of sticker activity books, novelty, fiction and early reader titles, with four fiction books launching in June.

Cartoon Network has launched The Powerpuff Girls Story Maker app in the UK and across EMEA. The new app allows children and their parents to tell their own stories based on the crime-fighting trio.

A number of licensed properties picked up accolades at the Creative Across Media: Entertainment & Originality (CAMEO) Awards earlier this week. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt won the Book to TV category, while Beast Quest was awarded Best Book to Game.

The CMC is taking further steps into the Chinese kids’ media market through a collaboration with CICAF, the China International Cartoon and Animation Festival. CMC is organising and producing two conference sessions at the market, which is held annually in Hangzhou.

DHX Media has secured an exclusive deal with ZDF to launch season one of the new-look Teletubbies on children’s channel KiKA in Germany. The show will launch on the channel next month.

Paris-based animation production and distribution studio, Millimages has secured a partnership with TThunder Animation to represent new preschool series Rainbow Chicks globally.

Design house W Turnowsky has secured a licensing agreement with Lifetime Brands for tabletop products featuring its designs. Products will include dinnerware and giftware, distributed by Lifetime Brands under the Mikasa and Pfaltzgraff brands. The deal was secured by The Brand Liaison.

The Brand Liaison has appointed Cory Waisner to lead the company’s manufacturer representation efforts, with a focus on fashion, characters and entertainment properties.
