Egmont Publishing is going for gold, having secured rights to the official children’s Team GB publishing in 2020.
A Team GB Handbook and Sticker Activity Book will be published, alongside two exclusive magazine specials in summer 2020, ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The book titles will be packed with up to date facts and statistics to help bring fans up to speed with the team, as well as including content for supporters to engage with them as the Games progress.
Aimed at children aged 8+, Team GB Handbook: A guide to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Team GB: Sticker Activity Book will publish June 11, 2020.
“The Egmont UK Books team go Olympics-mad every four years, so we couldn’t be more excited to be Team GB’s official publishing licence for the 2020 Games,” said Emily Campan, publisher at Egmont UK. “We can’t wait for our fun, fact-packed books to hit retail and for them to inspire a whole new generation of fans to follow the action.”
Meanwhile, the two exclusive magazine specials will be aimed at 6-12s. They will include fact files, puzzles, posters, quizzes and stories of achievements from Team GB.
Laura Adnitt, magazines publishing director at Egmont, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Team GB in the exciting run up to Tokyo 2020, and we are sure that we will be able to transfer the passion, commitment and dedication of Team GB to print, and that the magazines will inspire our young readers to strive for their personal bests.”
Egmont Publishing secured the deal for UK rights with The Point.1888.
