LEGO unveils new Disney Minifigures

Classic characters as well as Disney-Pixar heroes and villains included in range.

The LEGO Group has turned a number of popular Disney characters into minifigures.

Arriving in May, the 18th collection of LEGO Minifigures includes classic characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, lining up alongside Disney-Pixar favourites such as Buzz Lightyear and Mr Incredible.

This is the first time that some classic Disney characters have been brought to life in minifigure form.

“For more than 16 years, fans have been recreating their most beloved Disney stories through LEGO play,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president of licensing and entertainment for The LEGO Group.

“This year, we’re excited to give them a diverse collection of Disney characters from classic storylines, to never-before-seen LEGO likenesses of Disney icons in order to further the creative play possibilities for Disney and LEGO fans alike.”

The 18-strong collection includes classic characters Donald and Daisy Duck, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Alice and the Cheshire Cat, Peter Pan and Captain Hook, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Ariel and Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Genie and Aladdin and Stitch from Lilo & Stitch.

In addition, two Disney-Pixar characters which have never been seen before in the LEGO world – Mr Incredible and archenemy Syndrome – are available, along with Buzz Lightyear and squeak-toy Alien from Pizza Planet.
