New collaboration includes apparel, accessories and footwear for kids and adults.
Pokémon’s status within the fashion space keeps growing, further illustrated by a new partnership with adidas.
With three key lines, the adidas collection includes apparel, accessories and footwear for kids and adults.
Following an initial footwear line in China in 2019, two subsequent apparel, accessories and footwear lines have launched worldwide this year. The larger Pixel-themed range comprises tracksuits, t-shirts, shorts and footwear adorned with lo-fi 8-bit graphics inspired by the visuals found in the early Pokémon video games, using patterns of pixels to create images of Pikachu and some of his friends.
Alongside this is a smaller-scale Pikachu/football-themed capsule collection. In all, there are nine different trainer designs for Pokémon fans to choose from, as well as the apparel.
The adidas collection follows a number of successful fashion collaborations with international designers launched on the catwalks at major fashion weeks, including Jeremy Scott in New York, GCDS in Milan and Bobby Abley in London. In addition, Pokémon has established global partnerships with a growing list of leading fashion retailers such as Zara, Bershka, Pull&Bear and H&M.
