The Licensing Awards 2016: The Property winners

We highlight the 7 winners, while Roald Dahl scoops the Marketing Communication award.

As usual, the property categories at the Licensing Awards were hotly contested, with some high profile brands nominated across preschool, children’s, adult, film, celebrity, sports and classic.

First up was Best Preschool Licensed Property (sponsored by Character World), with the popular PAW Patrol brand taking the victory.

Creator Keith Chapman told The Source: “This is all down to the brilliant team at Nickelodeon – the programme only started in 2014 so this is really well deserved.”

Best Children’s or Tween Licensed Property (sponsored by Misirli) was awarded to a delighted Bulldog Licensing, Moose Toys and Flair team for Shopkins.

Rob Corney, md of Bulldog, simply commented: “I could not be happier!”

Moving on, and Best Teen or Adult Licensed Property (sponsored by TVM Fashion Lab) went to Adventure Time.

Johanne Broadfield, vp, Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA, Turner EMEA, tried to play it cool but was clearly delighted with the accolade.

Best Film Licensed Property (sponsored by Pyramid International) was collected by Star Wars. Simon Phillips, executive vice president & general manager DCP EMEA at The Walt Disney Company EMEA, commented: “Our partners in the UK work really hard, and they create great products which allow us to win awards like this.”
