More big names join Festival of Licensing Live Stage

Hasbro, eOne, Chupa Chups and Crunchyroll all confirmed for event’s opening week.

Further brands and companies have been confirmed today (September 24) to present on the Festival of Licensing Live Stage during the event’s opening week.

Powered by Brand Licensing Europe, the first week of the month-long global celebration of licensing runs from October 6-8.

Newly announced for the Live Stage (which is sponsored by Crunchyroll):

Tuesday October 6 (12.40pm BST) – senior executives from Hasbro and eOne, including Casey Collins, global consumer products gm and svp, will present Fuelling Franchises Together.

Tuesday October 6 (3pm BST) – creative agency Tela Italia, WildBrain CPLG Lifestyle and Perfetti Van Melle will join forces for Chupa Chups: The Secret to Keeping Art Stories Sweet to look into the creative energy behind Chupa Chups’ licensing success, and the importance of design as a tool for reinforcing brand relevance and uniqueness.

Wednesday October 7 (3pm BST) – Anime: The Inescapable Hit of Licensing (powered by Crunchyroll) will show how anime licences are powerful, audience-driving brands that offer sustainability in a crowded market.

Meanwhile, new view on demand content from October 6 has also been revealed.

This will include Yasuo Miyakawa, chief Pac-Man officer and ceo of Bandai Namco Entertainment talking about 40 years of the brand; plus a collaboration from Hussein Khalid, director of information technology department at Sanrio and Greg Holtzman, marketing director at Brainbase.

New content available to view on demand from October 20, meanwhile, will include a What Do Licensees Want? session featuring execs from Jazwares, Extreme Concepts, IHL Apparel Group, Best Accessory Group and The Brand Liaison.

Stephen Glockenmeier, vp marketing, corporate brand licensing and consumer channels, American Red Cross, and Stu Seltzer, president, The Seltzer Licensing Group will investigate charity brand licensing and the importance of brand purpose to consumers with a deep dive case study in to licensing the Red Cross.

On top of this, Gabriela Arenas, vp licensing North America at Sesame Workshop, will discuss how the non-profit in pivoting its speed-to-market approach to provide Sesame Street resources in these challenging times.

In addition, a series of sessions curated by Licensing International will also be available to view on demand during all three regional weeks. These will include the What You Need to Know to Do Business In… series and the Basics of Licensing series.
